Do you know that a smiling person is judged to be more pleasant, attractive, sincere, sociable and competent. Wow! You get all that and it doesn’t cost you a single penny.
On top of how people think of you, there is a health benefit because when you smile it releases endorphins that work in the brain to give an overall feeling of well-being. Smiling people are happy and generally don’t get sick as often as unhappy people.
Adults laugh approx. 15 times a day, while children laugh about 400 times a day. No wonder they say the children will inherit the earth. Another interesting fact is that happiness leads to smiling, and smiling leads to happiness. If you aren’t happy, smile anyway and it will help you get there.
Sometimes it is hard to smile when life has been hard, so here are a few tips:
- Make faces at yourself in the mirror.
- Play with a pet.
- Hug someone you love.
- Jump on the bed like a child.
- Watch some old comedy movies.
