I often ask myself if I’m “Living Life Fully”. I am great at working on projects, being committed to the end. Playing, however requires planning so I’ve recently started asking myself, “Am I having a good time?” - “Am I doing what I really want to do?” - “What does fun look like to me?”
This is where we start examining our life with the goal being to have a life worth living. Examining the way you embrace your life doesn’t just make your life worthwhile; it makes it challenging and adventures at the same time.
- What’s the best way to live life fully?
- Do you enjoy your own company?
- Are you having enough fun?
It starts with believing that you deserve to be happy. If you believe you deserve better, you will create better.
Look at others that have what you want, role models, and think “Now it’s my turn”, then start making changes. If you do different, you will be different. You have to adjust your thinking by replacing your negative beliefs with positive ones.
Are you living your dreams or just letting life drift along? You owe it to yourself to run your own life. If your time is being taken up in earning a living and/or caring for others, you need to still set aside time for yourself – time to dream and do.
Taking care of yourself is not selfish. Instead give yourself permission to treat yourself as the special “one of a kind” person you are.
Yes, we need to accept the life we have been dealt with and not be in denial of our grief, but also have the courage to change those things that are in our power to change.
Accept yourself as you are right now – good, bad and ugly. But be willing to change, to take steps towards creating a happy and fulfilled life.
Serenity Prayer
God grant me the Serenity to
Accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference.
